AION 2 — September 2, 2026 Update Notes: Spacetime Rift Domination Arrives, and Half of Last Week Is Undone
Spacetime Rift Domination goes live: open-world faction war in Verteron and Altgard, Monday / Thursday / Saturday at 20:00 and 23:00, 60 to 200 players a side, 25 minutes under a forced S-PVP mode. Each defending territory holds three groups of five strongholds and one group opens at random; three monoliths bring down a stronghold, three strongholds win the fight. The gate is steep — level 50, item level 4,500, 500.0k Combat Power and the sixth tier of both Stronghold Sweep achievements — and entry costs one of three Event Keys a week. In the Abyss, Watcher Kaira goes from a 20% chance to a guaranteed spawn every four hours, and Abyss boss stats plus PVP contribution are raised again. The class section is largely last week being walked back: Spinning Strike returns to a 30s cooldown, 250 MP and 15 groggy damage — exactly the numbers August 26 changed — in exchange for becoming a 20m ranged AoE with +50% PVE damage, Impactful Crush returns to a 15s cooldown, and on Templar the skills buffed 30% last week are cut 10-20% while Judgment and Threatening Blow are given back what they lost. Also: three Gladiator passives that silently stopped working under a low-level armour buff, higher stack limits on enchant fragments, and a reset of the item-restore charges people burned on the August 26 bulk-sell bug.

AION 2 — Domination, Mapped: All 30 Strongholds, the Rotation Behind Them, and What the Chests Hold
The September 2 notes announced Spacetime Rift Domination. The client explains it. All thirty strongholds are located on both world maps, found by name rather than guesswork; the three rotation groups turn out to be map sectors, so one window is one corner of the zone; the round is 25 minutes, the week holds six of them, and the ranking that pays you is run inside your own class, fifteen tiers deep. Also here: what the Monolith of Glory actually is, why nothing stands at a stronghold between windows, and the one entry threshold the client refuses to label.

AION 2 — August 26, 2026 Update Notes: The Great Rebalance, Server Transfers and Bound Kina
The largest class patch since launch, and everything in it follows from one line: a minimum cancel time is now applied to every skill, so how much DPS you get out of animation-cancelling stops depending on your device and your connection. Because the ceiling drops, the floor rises — all nine classes get flat PVE damage increases in the same patch. Party-synergy passives on Gladiator, Templar, Chanter and Cleric are roughly halved so that support classes are paid for something other than damage. Templar and Chanter get real reworks: Judgment and Dark Crush stop being reactive stun-punishers and trigger off your own rotation, Punishment becomes a 20m projectile instead of a self-centred AoE, and Spinning Strike drops from 250 to 100 MP with half the cooldown. Main-skill lifesteal is cut across four classes, every flat-value shield becomes a percentage of HP, Theostones get an internal cooldown, and dispels no longer strip potion buffs. Outside the class section: Kina from six dungeon modes becomes Bound Kina, the Abyss set bonus goes from 20% to 40% at 12 pieces, a one-week Server Transfer service opens (1,000 Quna base, 200 per character, 20:00-24:00 only), and a new Daeva Pass, "Moonlit Oasis", runs to September 22.
