AION 2 — March 11, 2026 Update Notes

Major update: Cross-faction dungeon matching for Expedition/Transcendence/Sanctuary, Sanctuary adjustments (Rudra weekly attempts halved with doubled rewards, new Erosion Purifier unlocked), class fixes, White Day event, new Odyle's Blessing subscription pass, QoL improvements.

Cross-Faction Matching

• Cross-faction play enabled for Expedition, Transcendence, and Sanctuary dungeons
• Elyos and Asmodian players can now form parties together for these dungeons
• Dungeon lobby and party chat available between factions
• Sanctuary Kisk Installer Ⅰs can now be used by both factions
• Draupnir dungeon entrance relocated to each faction's homeland:
  • Elyos: Verteron
  • Asmodian: Altgard
• Episode quests for Draupnir updated — now complete Draupnir first, then enter Abyss (previously reversed)

Sanctuary

• Abyssal Forge: Ludra Clear I: Rudra — weekly attempts reduced from 4 → 2
• Mid-boss rewards (Rahu & Ketu) upgraded to Superior Abyssal Box (Bound) — 2× the rewards of the previous box
• New Sanctuary unlocked: Corroded Decontamination Facility

Shugo Festa

• "High-High" event: safety barrier added before start to prevent cliff falls
• "Is it this tile?" event: correct answer visual effect changed
• Fix: "Jump Jump" and "Is it this tile?" — crowd sound effects not playing — fixed

Abyss

• Draupnir dungeon entrance removed from Abyss (moved to Verteron / Altgard)
• Artifact control and Abyss corridor reset due to server re-matching

Expedition

• Dying Dramata's Nest & Cradle of Nihility Conquest dungeons: Philosopher's Stone: Revelation (Bound) added to confirmed rewards

Season Weekly Missions

• [Season → Season Missions → Challenge] — Devanion Crystal: Ariel (Bound) added as Awakening & Punitive clear reward

Potential Enhancement — New Equipment

• Field boss Unique-grade exclusive equipment now eligible for Potential Enhancement

Substance Morph

• New recipe: Core → Breath of Magic (Bound)
• Draconic equipment crafted from Cores can now be used as Inheritance Stone Substance Morph material
• Field boss Unique-grade equipment can now be used as Potential Enhancement Stone Substance Morph material
• New recipe: Devanion Crystal: Ariel (Bound) + Devanion Crystal: Marchutan (Bound) → Soul Codex (Bound) (Bound)

Crafting

• "Dragon Emperor" (응룡 패왕 / 기룡 패왕) equipment recipes removed from crafting list

Rift

• After reaching Abyss Point cap, Rift now grants a small amount of additional Abyss Points (much less than normal)

Substance Morph recipes to craft buff items (5 Honey + 5 Ginseng Root → 10 items, 100% success, 1–2×/week per character).

Event materials (Honey & Ginseng Root) deleted March 25. Buff items deleted April 1.

Improvements

• Dodge skills: Intermittent failure to activate during other skill casts — improved
• CAPTCHA punished players: Can now be attacked by same-faction players (no AP/ranking points awarded)
• Dungeon retry improved:
  • Full party all accepts → instant retry inside dungeon
  • Partial accepts → moved outside but auto-ready state applied
  • Sanctuary dungeons with attempt limits → attempts auto-deducted on instant retry
• Soul Attunement improved: Sync Stones auto-register by stack count; previously selected stat slot is preserved
• Instant Clear Ticket: Daily Dungeon (Bound) → now storable in warehouse and server warehouse
• Devanion Point cap implemented to prevent excessive accumulation (excess points to be refunded as items later)
• Accessibility: Photosensitivity relief added to [Settings → Accessibility → Visual Assist] — reduces screen glare via graphic tone adjustment

UI Improvements

• Daily dungeon Instant Clear popup: disabled button now shows reason via system message
• Arcana synthesis materials no longer displayed on the button — shown separately above it
• Enemy player rank icon numbers in Abyss now more visible

Bug Fixes

• Cosmetics: Semi-transparent areas on Red Velvet Ganache and Sweet Cherry Cake skins appearing differently across devices — adjusted
• [Nightmare] Gatekeeper Pinopi: certain skill not dealing damage — fixed
• [Transcendence] Submerged Life Temple: "Life Drain" trait icon changed
• [Transcendence] Submerged Life Temple: updraft after Elaid defeat now reaches higher altitude
• [Transcendence] Submerged Life Temple: first sealed statue and freed elite guardian positions adjusted
• Essence Extraction: Appraiser skill VFX now only triggers when gather grade increases
• Essence Extraction: Comparison window now closes when clicking compare button while already open
• "Deva's Special Supply Box (Bound)" now goes to inventory instead of being used immediately
• Season 2 item expiry dates extended to April 8, 2026

Retrievals & Restorations

• Season item schedule: Item expiry dates changed from March 25 → April 8, 2026 at 05:00
• Draupnir journal update: Hero journal entries for Draupnir and Abyss visit updated to match new entrance locations — in-progress journal steps auto-adjusted
• Medal of Honor Substance Morph refund: Kina cost difference from the Dec 10, 2025 — Mar 4, 2026 period will be retroactively refunded
