AION 2 — April 22, 2026 Update Notes

Major update: new Expedition island, Sanctuary revival rules, Nightmare instant-complete, full Abyss rework (server rematch, new post-conquest bosses, Corridor overhaul), HP Absorption system overhaul across all 8 classes, new Material Conversion recipes, item/combat-power/UI improvements, and two new events.

[Content & System]

Expedition

  • New Expedition "Island of Blue Breath" (Exploration / Conquest — Normal & Hard) added.
  • Some Kina obtainable from Expedition Ode Energy Cubes has been moved to the mid-boss loot list.

Sanctuary — Resurrection Rules

A resurrection limit now applies in mid-boss and boss rooms of Sanctuary.

  • Skill-based resurrection and Resurrection Spiritstone revives combined are limited to 2 per player in mid-boss and boss rooms.
  • The counter resets at the start, defeat, and party wipe of each mid-boss / boss encounter.
  • Outside mid-boss / boss rooms, the counter is neither reduced nor reset.
  • Standard resurrection and Kisk resurrection remain unlimited.

Nightmare

  • [Instant Complete] button added to the dungeon lobby — claim repeat rewards without playing through the dungeon.
  • The button is available only for stages you have already cleared at least once.
  • Ranking points are not awarded when using Instant Complete.
  • Each use consumes one Instant Complete Ticket: Nightmare (Bound) and one challenge attempt per reward claimed.
  • Instant completions count toward the season mission "Clear Nightmare" — but not "Clear Nightmare within time limit."
  • Buffs are now removed upon entering the dungeon.
  • Following the HP Absorption system rework, boss ATK and damage amplification inside Nightmare have been reduced by 2.5%–15%.

Dimensional Invasion

  • Dimensional Invasion reward key quantities are now tracked at the server level (instead of per-character).

Mission (Duty) Quests

  • Mission quest attempt counts are now tracked at the server level.
  • Reset cycle (daily) and attempt cap (5) remain unchanged.
  • Non-equipment mission rewards doubled compared to before.

Abyss

Server rematching takes effect with this update — artifact conquest and Abyss Corridor have been reset.

  • Some wind-path routes in Chaotic Ereshulanta Mid-Layer have been corrected. CC immunity while riding wind paths will be added in the April 29 update.
  • Artifact Conquest schedule changed to Wednesday & Saturday, 22:00 (start time may be 5–10 min later depending on match group).
  • After Artifact Conquest ends in the Lower and Mid-Layer, new Abyss boss field events spawn:
    • Every Wed & Sat at 22:30
    • Lower Layer: Watcher Kaira Ⅰ, Argo, the Spirit King Ⅰ, Executor Tamasa
    • Mid-Layer: Executioner Dramos, Rebel Dukal, Destroyer Maraka
    • Defeating these bosses drops materials convertible to Dimensional Merit Box / Advanced Dimensional Merit Box (valid until season end July 1)
  • Guardian Lord Nahma and Enraged Guardian General Nahma spawn time changed to Friday & Sunday at 22:00.
  • Abyss field boss monsters despawn 30 minutes after appearing.
  • Abyss Corridor rework:
    • Session time reduced to 2 minutes (actual ~2 min 10 sec accounting for loading)
    • Entry limited to 1 player
    • Outer-zone monsters removed; entry point moved to the central zone
    • Kina and Abyss Points from monster kills increased
  • Killing monsters in Chaotic Ereshulanta Mid-Layer now grants Reshanta Aura (Bound) (Bound).
  • Proof of Hero (Nahma) (Bound) (Bound) and Nahma's Horn Fragment (Bound) (Bound) now expire 3 days after acquisition.
  • Season mission updates (Abyss — Weekly):
    • "Minimal Morality" mission gains Steps 4–5; completion rewards Potential Amplification Stone: Abyss (Unique) (Bound).
    • New missions added: "Ruler of the Lower Layer" & "Ruler of the Mid-Layer."
  • Merit box contents updated:
    • Medal count in Nahma's Merit Chest: Unique (Bound) and Enraged Nahma's Merit Chest: Unique (Bound) increased.
    • New Dimensional Merit Box and Advanced Dimensional Merit Box (from new post-conquest bosses) added.
    • All four boxes have a chance to drop Potential Amplification Stone: Abyss (Unique / Heroic) (Bound).
    • Existing Nahma boxes are unchanged; old Nahma's Merit Chest: Unique (Bound) cannot be used as material for the new Enraged version.

Shugo Festival

  • All Shugo Festival events now activate every hour on the hour (no more time-slot divisions).
  • "High High" event: abnormal high-jump from vertical platforms fixed.
  • Chance of Unique-grade equipment in major Shugo Festival rewards slightly decreased.
  • Gathering-item spawn count in basic rewards reduced from 10 → 8.

Class Changes

Damage amplification and damage resistance effects have been split into PVE and PVP variants. Existing values become PVE values; PVP values start at 50% of PVE values.

Damage-proportional HP Absorption has been replaced with a fixed HP Absorption system (e.g., "5% HP Absorption" = 5% damage-based drain [max 10% max HP] + 5% max-HP recovery).

Teleport-type skill animation speed is now affected by combat speed.

    • Eternal Gartuwa: Illusion [Kaisinel] — +5 stat added

  • Stats gained via passive skills now contribute only 50% of their value to Combat Power.
  • Combat Power gained per passive skill level increased.
  • Combat Power gained from active skills at level 17+ increased.
  • HP contribution to Combat Power increased.

UI Improvements

  • Material Conversion: enhancement stage now shown in item names; item icons in results window now show grade color.
  • Succession Crafting: item detail popup in the crafting window now reflects succession info (enhancement stage, breakthrough stage, Soul Binding data).
  • Item Detail Window: crafting links now shown even for enhanced items.
  • Scrolling Text Speed option added under Settings → Accessibility → Visual Aids.
  • Succession UI reworked for clearer distinction between base and material slots (smaller slot size, FX effects removed).
  • Sanctuary lobby party info popup now shows each member's challenge count and reward count.

1. Stigma Renewal Chance

  • During the event, Stigma skill reset is free.

2. Kina Ode Energy Pass

Period: April 22 (Wed) after maintenance → May 6 (Wed) 05:00

  • New Kina Ode Energy Pass available. Activate by using the Ode's Blessing (Bound) item.
  • Ode's Blessing (Bound) — 1,000,000 Kina — purchase limit: 3 per server (available in Shop → Events).
  • Pass has two lines (Basic + Basic); both unlocked on activation.
  • Max pass level: 20. After level 20, repeat rewards (max 3× per week).
  • Pass levels can also be purchased at 100,000 Kina per level.

  • Elyos quest dungeon "Phantom Sanctum" — progression-blocking barrier issue fixed.

  • Extraction (Cube → Extract → Settings → Quick Select): new quick-select filters "Exclude Supply Request Gear" and "Exclude Crafting Material Gear" added.
  • Party & Force — loot distribution is now determined at the moment of monster death (members who join or leave afterward are not included).
  • Season missions and achievements — party members with no contribution no longer receive kill counts.
  • Soul Tuning flow improved: option selection now possible regardless of material registration; selected option is retained even after materials are consumed or changed.
  • Deva Pass — subscription completion notification now shown.
  • Integrated Enhancement — gear without Soul Binding applied is excluded from Integrated Enhancement and its gear list (affects: Enhancement, Breakthrough, Abyssal/Stellar Stone Engraving, Theostone Engraving).
  • Performance — lag on mouse-hover/click in Inventory and Warehouse UI resolved.
  • Top-ranked players' death location is now shown on the world map (not shown in Abyss or dungeons).

Bug Fixes

  • Daevanian Crystal Fragment max stack increased from 1,000 → 10,000; now deletable.
  • Asmodian area — "Beginning Aftershock" mission: step "Assess Situation at Hideout" was uncompletable — fixed.
  • Shugo Festival — HUD editing during event no longer removes the scoreboard UI from minimap.
  • Auction House / Exchange — non-subscribers attempting to re-list items now see a system message instead of the registration popup.
  • Item enhancement — stats at 0 value no longer shown in the option info of enhancement slot items.
  • Expedition / Transcendence / Sanctuary UI — own faction filter now correctly shows waiting rooms.
  • Dimensional Rift — loading screen time and reconnection idle time no longer deducted from session timer.
  • Ascension Trial — right-side notification no longer fails to display before countdown ends.
  • Season UI — removed Transcendence stages no longer appear in Transcendence content info.
  • Sanctuary entry / retry — party leader no longer incorrectly shown as Ready in party formation screen.
  • Sanctuary UI — combat power displayed was lower than actual value — fixed.
  • Shugo Merchant Protection & Dimensional Invasion — system message now displayed when minimum score is not met and no reward is granted.
  • Settings → Graphics → Optimization → "Mass Battle Quality" below Normal: spirits could not be targeted — fixed.
  • Dragon's Ascent — intermittent return to starting position resolved.
  • Barrier bypass via specific actions — fixed.
  • Transformed state — movement from water to land difficult — fixed.
